We are pleased to work in partnership with CAP (Christians Against Poverty) to provide a revolutionary money management course that teaches people budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that really works. This course will help anyone to get more in control of their finances, so they can budget, save and prevent debt.
The course is run across three sessions which span three consecutive weeks, with an option to attend the course in the daytime or the evening. The number of people attending can range from two to 20.
Our Upcoming Courses
CAP Money Courses are run regularly throughout the year. Please contact the church office if you are interested in attending (admin@kingswoodbaptistchurch.co.uk or (01268) 271 707) or sign-up online and we will contact you with details of the next course .
What To Expect
The CAP Money Course is a DVD based course that will teach you:
- How to build a budget. This is the cornerstone of managing your money well. The session includes advice on how to increase your income and how to cut costs.
- The CAP Money system. This system will help to simplify your money and make it understandable. It operates using three accounts for your money: a regular payments account, a cash account and a savings account.
- To use cash instead of cards. Living on cash and getting away from cards means you know exactly where you are and helps you to spend less money.
Doing the CAP Money Course means you will be able to budget, save and spend on the things you want.
After watching the DVDs, trained CAP Money Coaches will be available to help you build your budget and answer any questions you may have. A unique benefit of the CAP Money Course is that, if you discover that you can’t balance your budget and pay off any debts, you will be able to access CAP Money Plus. This is an Internet based debt counselling service from Christians Against Poverty.

What Others Say
The CAP Money Course has helped thousands of people to better manage their finances.
“Lyn was my friendly CAP mentor, her gentle and calm presence made me feel welcome and more at ease with a prickly subject that I often find stressful. She shared her personal experiences and gave us time to discuss and share ours in a confidential and safe environment. She went above and beyond to help me when a childcare crisis prevented me from attending the last session giving me the opportunity to catch up at her home and offering continued support.” – Participant in last March’s course.
“I went on the CAP Money Course as we still have an overdraft and we are moving and starting a business so we needed to get in the right frame of mind and have our finances in order. The CAP Money Course helped by giving me the advice I needed for the future and bringing a healthy way to look at our money; instead of just muddling through each month. We now have no mortgage and are going ahead with the new business adventure that God has called us to do. I can’t thank CAP Money Course enough or say how supporting the website and booklet are. It helped that we can go on the cap money website at any time and get advice on how to go through our finances without freaking out.” – Potts family.
“I went on the CAP Money Course to organise my finances as my hours at work were changing. I needed the CAP Money Course to help me save and see how much I’m able to spend as I have always buried my head in the sand and shoved the bills in the drawer. When my mortgage company sent a letter regarding me paying off the rest of the money for the mortgage (due to it being interest only) I realised I needed help. That is when the CAP Money Course was so good in instructing me to know what do and not just to leave it. Since being on the CAP Money Course I feel that a weight was lifted in my financial situation and I am now in control.” – Christine Hitchcock
